On 23rd March, Pakistan Day, respected Mrs. Bilqees Sarwar, Chairwoman, Bilqees Sarwar Foundation (BSF) has been conferred with “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” fourth highest state organized honor of State of Pakistan to acknowledge her tireless efforts to serve the community members in the sectors of healthcare, education, welfare of the prisoners and humanitarian assistance. Tamgha-e-Imtiaz is awarded to Mrs. Bilqees Sarwar by Honorable Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Governor of Punjab on the behalf of respected President, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in an official ceremony held at Governor House, Lahore on 23rd March, 2018.

In 2005 after a devastating earthquake shook regions of Pakistan and many families were left without basic supplies and healthcare services, Honorable Mrs. Bilqees Sarwar took an initiative to provide the humanitarian assistance to the affectees in Swat. Throughout the relief efforts done by Mrs. Bilqees Sarwar, the Sarwar family became one of the largest donors of providing core relief items to the victims of the earthquake. While working for the welfare of the community members for over 10 years, in 2014, she laid the foundation of Bilqees Sarwar Foundation (BSF) a family run charitable organization.

Her tireless efforts and commitment towards providing quality healthcare treatment to the people resulted in the formation of an eye care facility under the name of Bilqees Sarwar Hospital (BSH). Since its inception, this eye care centre has served a community of 500,000 citizens, treating up to 5,000 eye patients per month, conducted more than 6000 optical surgeries including corneal transplant and cataract surgeries. While keeping in view the high influx of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients and shortage of hospitals providing quality dialysis treatment, she started working for the expansion of BSH and in 2016, she successfully established Punjab’s Largest Dialysis Centre in June 4, 2016 at BSH. This dialysis centre has the capability of conducting 100 free dialysis procedures on daily basis and since its establishment over 30 thousand free dialysis procedures has been conducted successfully. In 2017, she successfully inaugurated state of the art dental care centre and complete diagnostic centre comprises of CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, digital x-ray and complete laboratory facilities.

She has a keen interest in upgrading the medical facilities in the government hospitals and her contribution can be witnessed in Mayo Hospital, where she renovated 4 medical wards including Neurology Ward, East Medical Ward (Male Unit), East Medical Ward (Female Unit) and Nephrology Ward.

In Lahore General Hospital, she established a help centre to provide the patients with the facilities available at Bilqees Sarwar Hospital Diagnostic Centre.

In District Jail Lahore, for the welfare of prisoners she renovated a complete admin block, later this block was named after Mrs. Bilqees Sarwar i.e. “Bilqees Sarwar Medical Ward”.

Despite working in the healthcare sector, she also took initiatives in the education sector as well by granting 100 scholarships to the deserving students at Customs Public School (CPS). In the following year, she handed over a well-furnished education block to the management of Customs Public School. This block was named as “Bilqees Sarwar Education Block”. Moreover, she granted 50 scholarships to the intermediate students at Forman Christian Collage (FCC) and 40 scholarships are granted to Christina Noble Foundation. Recently another 10 scholarships are released to the students of Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) for completing Renal Dialysis Technician Course with 5 Scholarships to the MBBS Students at Ameer-Ud-Din Medical College, Lahore.
