The Bilqees Sarwar Foundation (BSF) has distributed thousands of food parcels to the factory employees of H. Sheikh Noor ud-Din & Sons (HSNDS), the Lahore-based manufacturing facility of NRS International, as a goodwill gesture during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

BSF is NRS International’s family-run charity that is committed to building stronger communities through public health and educational initiatives, both in Pakistan and beyond. BSF and the HSNDS executive directors launched the Ramadan charity campaign to say ‘thank you’ to all the factory staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

“I usually work to support BSF at the Mayo Hospital, but this year, I attended the two-day event to distribute the food parcels. It’s a great way for my family to thank each and every one of our staff, and I was truly humbled to be able to help in this year’s campaign,” said Hammad Sarwar, Volunteer Ambassador for BSF.

Each parcel contains food items for daily consumption, such as 10 kilograms of flour, 4 kilograms of sugar, 3 kilograms of rice, 2.5 kilograms of ghee, 2 kilograms of daal chana (lentils), ½ kg of tea, and one bottle of rooh afza (concentrated fruits, herbs and vegetable extract). Every package can feed a family of four for up to 15 days.

“Every Holy Month we provide all HSNDS employees with items to make their Iftar a little more special. This is a tradition that we have followed throughout the years, and it’s a great way to reconnect and give back to our dedicated staff,” said Nicole Malick, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of NRS International.

Driven by a sense of patriotism and building on their expertise of providing emergency relief products through NRS International, the Sarwar family created the Bilqees Sarwar Foundation, named after and chaired by the family’s matriarch. Over the past ten years, BSF has worked tirelessly to assist others, with the simple goals of alleviating suffering during emergency situations and to improve health services and educational opportunities for vulnerable families and communities in Pakistan.
