At a time where the global community faces unprecedented levels of displaced people, BSF and HSNDS hosted an event on June 20th to recognize World Refugee Day. The event took place at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, and coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, featured an iftar dinner. The event also showcased an interactive exhibition presenting a virtual reality screening of ‘My Life as a Refugee” and “Clouds over Sidra”. These award winning films highlighted some of the most pressing global challenges that humanity faces, including the current refugee crisis and climate change. Additionally, attendees were given a walking tour of a refugee tent which displayed examples of core relief items regularly found in refugee camps.

“People across the globe should be gathered as one to make refugees able to achieve their dreams” said Mr. Nabeel Farhan, son of BSF Founder Mr. Farhan Sarwar.

The event was attended by high-level representatives from internationally recognized NGOs, embassies, the Pakistani government, as well as the Sarwar family, who gathered to show their support for refugees and displaced people.

“Refugees need our help for standing up once again so we should be united to support them” stated Ms. Maliha Sarwar, the newest member of the BSF team.
